The  Crucifixion

Description:

This frescoe is located on the walls of DARK CHURCH in Goreme. Goreme is the town of CAPADOCCIA region and the location of this church is on Open-Air Museum. Dark Church is one of the domed churches constructed upon four columns. There is one large and on the sides are two small apses. It is one of the most beautiful churches constructed in the 13th century. Beside the fresco of the Crucifixion, there are more frescoes from bible. The paintings of the Crucifixion frescoe are completely original from the 13th century. The reason that the paintings are lively and not faded is due to the fact that they did not get much sunlight from outside.
